Over 12,000 competitors from 38 countries took part in the Dance World Cup, including Kilburn School of Dance from Wellingborough, in the UK. Amanda Barry, HR Manager at Water Conditioning Services Ltd is mum to one of the competitors, Fran, who travelled to jersey, with Kilburn School of Dance to compete in the highly prestigious Dance World Cup. The team were sponsored by SUEZ Water Conditioning Services Ltd and took the competition by storm, scooping 4 Gold, 5 Silver and 3 Bronze places.
An amazing achievement for the dance school in their competition debut.
To round off what was a fantastic experience for all competitors from around the globe, England returned with the Dance World Cup for 2016! There were two groups which were sponsored by SUEZ, Wild Fairies and a Moment of Peace. Amanda’s daughter Fran danced in both groups and helped secure a Bronze for Wild Fairies and a Silver medal for a Moment of Peace. The sponsorship money provided by SUEZ helped to fund places for some members of the group who would have been unable to pay the travel expenses required to attend the Dance World Cup held in Jersey.
Huge congratulations to the Kilburn School of Dance and to Fran and Amanda. A Moment of Peace are now through to dancing at the Royal Albert as a “wild card” act – so watch this space for more competition updates.
