20 Oct 2004 - Hospital bug kills father who survived leukemiia

 A father who beat cancer died after catching legionnaire's disease from a dirty shower head in a hospital. Daryl Eyles, 37, took his fatal wash the day before he was due to be discharged, having been given the all clear after his last chemotherapy session. The father of three contracted legionnaire's from bacteria at the Royal Bath Hospital in Bath. Yesterday, his widow Andrea, from Bath, accused doctors of trying to cover up by saying he died from pneumonia and septicemia.
The Royal United Hospital Trust has accepted liability and offered undisclosed compensation to Mrs Eyles and her children. A spokesman said water systems had since been disinfected and shower heads chlorinated
