Iron & Manganese Removal

Both mains and borehole water frequently contain Iron & Manganese. These can be removed using catalytic media such as Filox R and Birm and when appropriate additional oxidation such as a contact assembly or Chlorine dosing. A control valve on the media bed starts and stops a back-wash cycle as appropriate to clean and reclassify the bed.

To size and price an Iron removal unit, we need to know how many litres per hour of water need to be treated and what contaminants your water contains.

A pH of 7 or above is required for catalytic media to work at its optimum level. Therefore sometimes  pH correction filter is required as part of the overall removal system. See product information on pH correction or view the brochure.
