I am responsible for the management and operation of building water systems within hospitals and healthcare environments, do you offer a training course which covers our specific requirements in relation to HTM-04 and the Addendum?
Yes, the B & V Training Academy offer a range of training courses, which are designed to provide the underpinning knowledge necessary to control and minimise the risks associated with water borne bacteria, including Legionella pneumophila and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. We would recommend that the ProQual Level 2 Award in Controlling Water-borne Infections within Healthcare (QCF) qualification may be most suitable for your colleagues. This is delivered in a one day course and provides delegates with an understanding of these bacteria and how they can affect susceptible individuals is essential for successfully controlling the risks of water-borne infections within water systems.
Delegates who attend this course will leave with an understanding of how to apply relevant legislation within their day to day duties, with a particular focus on the HSE’s Approved Code of Practice L8 and HTM04-01 and Addendum, as issued by the Department of Health.
