B & V Training Academy recognise that formal training is essential in ensuring the competence of all individuals within the workplace, whatever their role and position within an organisation. This is why B & V Training Academy (a division of B & V Group) were proud to be the first approved training provider to offer one-day courses which allow successful delegates to achieve the following Ofqual accredited qualifications:-
- HABC Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (QCF)
- HABC Level 3 Award in Legionella Control for Responsible Persons (QCF)
- ProQual Level 2 Award in Controlling Water-borne Infections within Healthcare (QCF)
- STA Level 2 Award in Swimming Pool Water Treatment (QCF)
We believe that, wherever possible, it is important to offer training courses which lead to delegates achieving a formal qualification.
What is Ofqual and why is Ofqual accreditation important?
Ofqual is the Qualifications and Examinations regulator for England and Northern Ireland.
If a qualification is Ofqual accredited it means that the qualification meets Ofqual’s strict approval criteria for regulated qualifications. Learners completing an Ofqual accredited qualification can be assured that the qualification is delivered, assessed and awarded according to Ofqual’s requirements. These requirements are in place to protect learners to make sure they are treated fairly and to ensure that qualifications are awarded only to those delegates who have met the learning outcomes detailed within the qualification.
In summary an Ofqual qualification:
- has more credibility within the sector
- is nationally recognised
- is underpinned by rigorous quality assurance
- is a formal, regulated assessment of the delegate’s ability and knowledge, conducted within controlled conditions
- is the highest possible level of endorsement and recognition available for qualifications
Further information about Ofqual and its role in regulating qualifications can be found at: http://www.ofqual.gov.uk/
How do I know if a qualification is accredited by Ofqual?
Qualifications which are “accredited by” or “endorsed by” a particular Awarding Organisation, for example City and Guilds, or are advertised as “bespoke” qualifications are often not accredited by Ofqual. If a qualification is accredited by Ofqual, the Awarding Organisation are obliged to advertise it as being accredited by Ofqual. Qualification titles which have (QCF) at the end of the title are accredited by Ofqual and the delegate’s certificate will also include Ofqual’s official logo. Often Awarding Organisations will offer both Ofqual accredited qualifications and their own “accredited”; “bespoke” or “endorsed” qualifications.
If you are at all unsure whether the training course you are interested in allows delegates to achieve a formal Ofqual qualification then please do not hesitate to contact our Training Manager, Sarah Pallett at firstname.lastname@example.org who will be able to check the Register of Regulated Qualifications for you. Alternatively, type the qualification title into the Register’s search engine at: http://register.ofqual.gov.uk/
Who are Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC)?
