HABC Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Cooling towers and evaporative condensers) (QCF)
As an employer it is your responsibility to ensure that all staff are suitably trained. Having trained, knowledgeable staff becomes particularly important when controlling the risks associated with Legionella bacteria and in meeting the regulatory requirements set out in the HSE Approved Code of Practice and Guidance, L8.
B & V Training Academy provides training to enable delegates to achieve the HABC Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (QCF) qualification. Delegates can either specialise in the Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers pathway of learning or Hot and Cold Water Systems.
What does the training cover?
This new, ground-breaking qualification is aimed at personnel who work with cooling towers or evaporative condensers. The aim of the course is to raise awareness and reduce the risk associated with the waterborne bacteria that causes Legionnaires disease. The course is split into the following units:-
- The principles of legionella awareness
- Understanding the risks associated with legionella in cooling towers and evaporative condensers
How long does the course take?
The course is delivered in one day.
Delegates can also choose to complete an additional unit in “Understanding the risks associated with legionella in hot and cold water systems .” This will be delivered in an additional half a days’ training.
How is the course assessed?
Assessment is through a written knowledge based test.
