HABC Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (QCF) plus Risk Assessment Awareness
Having trained, knowledgeable staff becomes particularly important when controlling the risks associated with Legionella bacteria and in meeting the regulatory requirements set out in the HSE Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) and Guidance, L8. The ACoP states that,
“A suitable and sufficient assessment must be carried out to identify and assess the risk of exposure to legionella bacteria from work activities and water systems on the premises and any precautionary measures. The dutyholder is responsible for ensuring the risk assessment is carried out.”
The requirement to manage this risk now also extends to landlords and letting agents, regardless of the size or complexity of the hot and cold water system. Even where a risk assessment is contracted out to a specialist water risk assessment provider, it is essential that the dutyholder and responsible person have a good understanding of what constitutes a “suitable and sufficient assessment”.
B & V Training Academy provides training to enable delegates to achieve the HABC Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (QCF) qualification as well as an understanding of risk assessments.
