HABC Level 3 Award in Legionella Control for Responsible Persons (QCF)
As an employer it is your responsibility to ensure that all staff are suitably trained. This becomes particularly important when controlling the risks associated with Legionella bacteria and in meeting the regulatory requirements set out in the HSE Approved Code of Practice and Guidance, L8.
What does the training cover?
This new, ground-breaking qualification is aimed at personnel who are either in the role of, or aspiring to be in the role of, Responsible Person, relating specifically to the control of legionella on a site.
The course covers the effects of legionella bacteria on the body, including the impact an outbreak of Legionnaires’ Disease would have on a working site; how to identify and control the risks associated with legionella bacteria and how legislation and codes of practice can support its control. It is also designed to enforce the importance of the Responsible Person in respect to ensuring competence of all operatives on the site.
How long does the course take?
The course is delivered in one day.
How is the course assessed?
Assessment is through a written, knowledge-based test.
