B&V’s high performance Incubator 25 is designed for the temperature controlled incubation of between 20 and 25 dipslides at any one time. It has an adjustable temperature range of between ambient and 45°C and is suitable for laboratory, in-field and in-vehicle applications.
B&V’s incubator 25 is manufactured to the highest quality standards and incorporates a transparent shatterproof lid which allows unobstructed observation of the dipslides during the incubation process.
The incubator is compact and has been specifically designed for those treatment engineers who have a routine requirement to monitor a large number of cooling towers whilst mobile.
This dip slide incubator can be set up in no time at all and has quick set reference points of 30 and 37°C.
Running on the supplied 220/240V mains power lead or an optional 12V power lead for use in a standard car lighter socket, it is protected by an internal fuse and has an over-temp protection for safe extended use.
Simplicity of operation, dipslide visibility, 30 minute warm up period means the incubation of your dipslides is safe inside B&V’s Incubator 25.
Dip slides are used to establish if the conditions present in a water system have the potential to encourage bacteria to multiply and grow.
Once the sample has been collected the dipslide must be incubated at a constant temperature of 30°C for 48 hours to obtain a true result.
A dipslide incubator is a critical component of any microbiological monitoring and control programme. A constant carefully regulated incubation temperature is essential.
A lower incubation temperature may mean that the bacteria on the dip slide will grow more slowly and give an erroneous, low reading.
If the slide reading is artificially low then the treatment engineer may conclude that no corrective action is necessary and the system bacteria will be free to multiply and increase the risk to public health.
Conversely, if the incubation temperature is too high then the bacterial growth may be accelerated leading to a potentially false positive. This false high bacteria count can lead to unnecessary and expensive extra cleaning and treatment processes.
The UK Health & Safety Executives Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (ACoP) L8 dealing with the control of legionella bacteria in water systems requires weekly monitoring of microbiological activity. This can be achieved using B&V’s dipslides and incubators.
