Keeping you at the forefront of innovation in 2024

Some exciting research and development projects were completed in 2023 and we have a number of product launches lined up for this year. Read on to learn more about our new and improved water treatment formulations and latest innovations.

The water treatment industry predominately uses a number of traditional chemical formulations for the treatment of steam boilers, cooling towers, closed circuits and disinfection of water systems.

At B & V Chemicals, we realise that innovation is the key to success in any industry, including water treatment. B & V Chemicals has always had a commitment to research and development (R&D), with new advancements in chemical technology and the launching of new and innovative water treatment formulations being one of our core strengths over many years. We know that choosing the right water treatment chemical manufacturing partner is one of the most crucial decisions your company will ever make. Working with a water treatment chemical supplier who is keeping pace with every new development will put you, as our customer, at a distinct advantage in the industry.

At B & V Chemicals, not only do we keep pace with innovation in the industry, we are often the water treatment company leading it. We have a proud tradition of being at the forefront of progress, with an excellent research and development team continually seeking out new ways to make our chemicals more effective and our services more efficient.

Below is a brief list of particularly significant water treatment chemicals and innovations we will be able to supply to our customers in the UK and to our export distributors around the world in 2024.

Closed circuit chemicals

We have a full range of closed circuit chemicals including inhibitors, biocides, cleaning chemicals and specialist products. The focus of our R&D team is continual improvement so in 2024 we are launching Polyhib NU, a new and improved version of our top selling inhibitor Polyhib CH.

Our R&D team's objectives when starting this project were as follows:

  1. Faster passivation of iron based metals

  2. Excellent scale inhibitor package

  3. Further improved buffering capacity

  4. Clearer system water – more aesthetically pleasing in use

  5. Fully compatible with systems containing Polyhib CH

Polyhib NU has been in development for over a year as an improved replacement of Polyhib CH. Our R&D team met all the above parameters and even managed to develop the new and improved product at the same price point as Polyhib CH!

We have carried out 5 very successful customer trials and each customer met BSRIA BG29 sample criteria easily using Polyhib NU. Polyhib NU will now be launched to all our Own Label customers early this year.

Polyamine range

We have written a few blog posts about polyamines, and we will soon be launching a full range of closed circuit and steam boiler polyamine based formulations.

To summarise, some of the benefits of polyamines include:

  • Single product dosing

  • Enhanced heat transfer efficiency

  • Superior corrosion control

  • Cost effectiveness

  • Reduced chemical consumption

  • Significant energy and water savings

Our polyamine range includes:

  • Closed circuit inhibitors for all metal types

  • Food safe steam boiler formulation (NSF approved)

  • A range of standard all-in-one steam boiler formulations
